Problem: 2011 Panasonic 46 inch ST30 series plasma tv goes blurry in regions of high contrast for a few seconds out of every 60 seconds. It occurs when the seconds on the clock to the left hit about 31. Best viewed here at 720p or 1080p. Computer set up: - Geforce 9800 GTX + SC DVI port (HDCP compatible, and set up so that it doesn't overscan) - Single link DVI-D to HDMI adapter - HDMI 1.4 cable to HDMI port 3 on the TV - TV is set-up as shown in the video and has not been corrected for the known fluctuating brightness issue. Testing: In order to determine what is causing the problem I tried changing everything in the system: - 3 different HDMI cables (2 HDMI 1.4 and 1 HDMI 1.3) - 2 different DVI to HDMI adapters (used at the computer end of the HDMI cable) - 3 different operating systems (Windows XP, Ubuntu Linux, Mac OS X) - 2 different computers (Desktop running Windows and Linux, macbook pro running Mac OS X and Linux) - 2 different Panasonic ST30 series TVs (My 46ST30 and a Best Buy 50ST30) Results: Only changing the TV made a difference. The Panasonic 50ST30 in Best Buy did not show this regular fluctuation. It has a September build date so it would have been corrected for the fluctuating brightness issue. Although I'm not sure that what I'm experiencing is related to the fluctuating brightness issue, it may be related. Unfortunately I called Panasonic and they told me they wouldn't help me because it was connected to a computer. I did write an e-mail detailing the ...

Best Brand Of Samsung PN51D7000 51 Inch 3D Plasma Review goo.gl Best Brand Of Samsung PN51D7000 51 Inch 3D Plasma Review : Hooked up this plasma to the a TV frame in the wall. It is so thin that even with the bracket, it is still flush against the wall. Hooked up to a Yamaha A2000 7.1 with Harmon Kardon series 60. The setup is beyond anything I could of ever imaged. At first, I felt there was no need to upgrade. I only wanted a larger TV. Currently all HDTV's are pretty much 1080p. The apps are all found on my PS3. The 3D is amazing but doesn't scream at me to go and upgrade. I then got this TV versus my original Sony XBR 46 LCD. Both TV's are 1080p but I was being robbed by the LCD. I will never switch to anything but Plasma again. I tested the new Samsung D8000 and Sony 3D Tv's 2011 models LED and the 3D hurt my eyes. The LED is bright, I mean Head Ache bright. I am not sensitive at ALL. Currently, I am using the Sony PS3 to handle my Blu Ray and 3D Blu Ray. It doesn't even have a 1.4 hdmi outlet or HD sound and I am blown away at how amazingly different it is from the Sony Read More ..... goo.gl Best Brand Of Samsung PN51D7000 51 Inch 3D Plasma Review

www.amazon.com SHARP ELITE PRO-X5FD LED TV REVIEW Sharp Elite PRO-X5FD LED TV delivers deeper black levels and better contrast than any other LCD or plasma on the market. Unlike other full-array local dimming TVs, it maintains its superior picture from normal viewing angles and blooming artifacts are virtually nonexistent. Color is relatively accurate, shadow detail is excellent and video processing does everything we expect. The screen maintains black levels well under ambient light. No-nonsense styling, best-ever energy efficiency and a nearly-complete feature set, including two pairs of 3D glasses, ice the cake tastefully. Even with its superb performance, it's impossible to call the gratuitously expensive Elite a good value. Blue/green areas are less accurate than we expect from a TV of this caliber, uniformity and off-angle aren't quite as good as plasma, and its screen creates relatively bright reflections. www.amazon.com The bottom line: The overpriced Sharp Elite LED-based LCD produces the best overall picture quality of any TV we've reviewed since 2008. Review: In the United States these days the word "Elite" has a negative connotation evoking snooty haves vs. gritty have-nots, Wall Street vs. Main Street, and them vs. us. The Sharp Elite PRO-X5FD, the first result of Sharp's licensing agreement with Pioneer to use the Elite name, won't do much to dispel those associations. This ridiculously expensive television is basically "The wealthiest 1 percent" distilled ...
