Everyone's favourite Essex boy, Olly Murs, has announced that he is to play a headline arena tour in February 2012. Olly Murs will be wowing fans with his charismatic show and performing hits including his new single 'Heart Skips A Beat', which is out today (22 August 2011). The last 12 months have been a hugely exciting and successful time for Olly. He released his debut single in August 2010, which promptly shot straight to number one. His debut album followed in November and has just been certified double platinum (600000 sales). Earlier this year he played a sold out UK tour including three nights at London's Hammersmith Apollo. His TV career has also got off to a great start, with him presenting the new series of the Xtra Factor, which hit screens at the weekend, alongside co-host Caroline Flack. On 4 April 2004 Michael Schumacher's Ferrari received the chequered flag to win the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first FIA Formula One World Championship event held in the Middle East. This symbolic act marked the end of an amazing 16 months — and the beginning of a brilliant future — for Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). The track was conceived as an integral part of His Highness the Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad's objective of increasing the awareness and profile of the Kingdom. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the German architect responsible for new GP venues in Malaysia, China, Turkey and Valencia, BIC was scheduled for a two-year build. But then Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone asked if that schedule could be brought forward — by six months. Without a moments hesitation we agreed. "There was a flood of press speculation that the track would not be ready for its inaugural Grand Prix," says Martin Whitaker, BIC's CEO since August 2004. "But under the guidance of Shaikhs Mohammed bin Isa and Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa it was more than ready. "It was a period of intense excitement and hard work. The drive to have the circuit finished on time coursed through the veins of everyone connected with it: pride, passion and, ultimately, huge satisfaction in a job well done." You just directed the last four "Harry Potter" films, which by the end of this weekend will have grossed a little over $1 billion, with a "B." And that's just in the United States. So, what do you do next? Pretty much whatever you want, as it turns out. The director will pick from several high-profile projects set up at Warner Bros., ranging from a possible multi-film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "The Stand" to a comic-book project to a biography of Al Capone. Vulture reports that Yates was due to meet with studio executives Friday (July 15) to discuss several projects, foremost among them an adaptation of "The Stand," King's epic novel about a battle between good and evil that ensues after a plague wipes out most of Earth's population (King previously adapted the book for a 1994 miniseries that aired on ABC). Warner Bros. is hoping to split the novel into three movies. (Of course, Universal was also talking about making three films, plus a TV series, from another King epic, "The Dark Tower," but its status is shaky at the moment.) Yates will reportedly decide on "The Stand" in the next couple of weeks, and if he says no, he could move on to a couple of other projects.
