This fifth floor, luxurious oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located on the sought after ocean side of the elevator. It has a spectacular ocean view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is a one bedroom, one bath unit (504 sq ft). It was completely remodeled and refurnished in 2006, and is fantastic in every way! Our guests gave this unit a very high rating in 2009 -- 4.65 out of 5! It is a very popular unit that books up fast! The entire unit has porcelain flooring. All the cabinetry, which is consistent throughout the unit, was custom made and imported from Canada. It is solid maple, and all counters and vanities are topped with a beautiful, brown toned granite. All lighting in all rooms is controlled by dimmer switches. The gourmet kitchen is spectacular! It is fully equipped with stainless steel Professional Series appliances, including side by side fridge/freezer with water and ice, flat top stove with five burners and warming drawer, quiet dishwasher, multi function microwave oven, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee maker, coffee grinder, four slice toaster, blender, crock pot, rice maker and hand mixer. Two major building projects began today: Boogie Nights at the Tropicana, and a four-part, reality-based Curtain Call television series on the making of the new nightclub. With video and interviews, we'll track the progress of the '70s- and '80s-theme dance club build-out as we sit on meetings and strategy sessions related to the marketing and entertainment components of the club. We'll be there when Boogie Nights begins auditions for the staff of entertainers who'll give the club its personality. We'll even install a time-lapse camera to capture the transformation. From that material, we'll create four special editions of Curtain Call that'll air on NBC40 on dates to be determined. Three shows will air during the run-up to the opening, and the fourth will cover the celebrity-packed opening of the club in either late April or early May. We'll also do a series of webisodes for the Trop's social media web sites. We were there today to chat with Trop president and CEO Tony Rodio and Boogie Nights creator Dave Pena as the casino decommissioned the former Penny Pavilion slot area and began removing the machines to make way for the 8000-square-foot club.
