Behind Closed Doors *Demi's POV* I rested my head on the soft pillow laying on the sofa. I sighed as I closed my eyes trying to block out the sound of loud music and party animals outside my dorm room. It was now my second day of Freshmen year in college, And I cant get any sleep. I sighed as I heard loud banging on my door, and some more laughs, until I saw my roomate Miley come in the door annoyed "Hey, Jack asses, Keep it down, were trying to sleep in here!" she shouted down the hall as nobody listened to her, she slammed the door shut and looked at me. "God I wish I was rich!" she said annoyed. I nodded my head. "I'm with you on that one, Ive only gotten like 2 hours of sleep today, and that was at lunch." I slammed myself back down on the couch as I put the pillow over my face. She giggled, as she moved my feet and sat down. I sat up beside her. "We should get rich hot rockstar boyfriends" she said smiling. This has always been her daydream, shes always wanted it to be reality too. I never understood why girls got huge crushes on a bunch of snobby teenage rockstars they have never even meant in there entire lifes. I never understood it, dont think I ever will. Pleasant Valley Sunday - Monkees. "Pleasant Valley Sunday" is a song by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, most famous for the version recorded by The Monkees in 1967. Goffin's and King's inspiration for the name was a street named Pleasant Valley Way, in West Orange, New Jersey. The road follows a valley through several communities among the Watchung Mountains. The lyrics were a social commentary on status symbols, creature comforts, life in suburbia, and "keeping up with the Joneses". The song may be seen as an American counterpart to Penny Lane. The Monkees are an American pop rock group. Assembled in Los Angeles in 1966 by Robert "Bob" Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the American television series The Monkees, which aired from 1966 to 1968, the musical acting quartet was composed of Americans Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork, and Englishman Davy Jones. The band's music was initially supervised by producer Don Kirshner. At the time of the group's formation, its producers saw The Monkees as a Beatles-like band. At the start, the band members provided vocals, and were given some performing and production opportunities, but they eventually fought for and earned the right to collectively supervise all musical output under the band's name. "Last Train to Clarksville" was the debut single by The Monkees, released August 16, 1966, and later included on the group's 1966 self-titled album, that was released on October 10, 1966.[1] The song was recorded at RCA Victor Studio B in Hollywood, on July 25, 1966. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 on November 5, 1966. The plot comprises a phone call from a military person to his wife / girlfriend, requesting that she 'get the last train to Clarksville' in order to have one last night together before he has to leave on his morning train. He doesn't know when he will return, so this may be a long or dangerous assignment. Though the Clarksville in the song's title appears to refer to the city of Clarksville, Tennessee — and by implication to nearby Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which is home to the 101st Airborne Division — co-writer Bobby Hart states that this is a coincidence.
