They launch an all-out attack on Capital City even as Captain Harlock thunders down from the sky to give the MIC a hand. His intervention allows Kamerov to escape with Maia in a fighter plane, and with a small escort he attempts to flee to his homeland of Saudi Arabia and the safety of the desert wastes. The Mazone are hot on his trail, though - although they have no idea who they are pursuing or how important their quarry's passenger is to their chief foe. He stays on Earth to rally what defense he can from the scattered and confused MIC, but convinces Harlock to take his friend Lilith Kingston on board. She was the only one in the Earth government who believed his tale of the Mazone, and risked her own life to rescue him from imprisonment and execution on false charges of assassination and treason. Unknown to everyone, however, Lilith is actually a Mazone double agent. She is human enough, but was coerced into working for the Mazone after watching them torture and execute her boyfriend. She has played Kamerov like a violin all this time so she can gain Harlock's confidence and get on board the Arcadia. Her new mission? To sabotage the ship's defenses, and if possible destroy it. That won't be easy, however, as Lilith runs into the same problems as did the young Terry Drake when he first came on board the Arcadia.
