Formula Paeroa 2008 - apologies for the quality. And as for the quality of the television companies on-bike footage - it's truly awful! Poor Hayden Fitzgerald has to wear a back pack thing just to use it - ancient technology even for then I'm sure. A great event though and some good racing. Hard to believe (for non New Zealanders) that they close the main State Highway #2 from Auckland to the Bay of Plenty region to allow this race to take place each year. All traffic is diverted around the outskirts of the town through a series of residential streets for the day. Normally they use what is the start finish section as the main highway through the middle of the town - which is the High st.
