www.cuba-style.com Breakfast with the famous - Jorge Perugorria Jorge Perugorria (aka Pichi) was born on August 13, 1965 in Wajay, Havana. He is known as one of the most famous Cuban actors since his part as Diego in Strawberry and Chocolate (original title in Spanish Fresa y Chocolate (co-directed by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabío). He recently acted in Steven Soderbergh's Che, with Benicio del Toro. Today, he lives in Santa Fe, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Havana, with his wife Elsa Maria Lafuente de la Paz Elbita and their four children. Perrugorria studied civil engineering until he turned to theater. He played Shakespeare with the Olga Alonso troupe, and starred in The Glass Menagerie with the Ritan Mountainer troupe. In the early 1990s, Perugorria helped found Havana's Public Theatre, which started with Jean Genet's The Maids. In this play, Perugorria acted the difficult part of Clara, working on a real gestural dimension for this feminine character. And that led to his first opportunity in cinema. Indeed, Perugorria played in several TV series or short films, but his first cinema success was Fresa y Chocolate (Strawberry and Chocolate), in which he played the part of Diego, a gay young man who meets a straight university student named David. The movie, subtly dealing with tolerance and sexual politics, made Perugorria recognizable as one of Cuba's most famous actor. From that moment, he has gone on to act in nearly 50 films, the most recent being ...

Taken from Bro Abu Mussab Wajdi Akkari lecture titled the Horn of Satan Main Distinction of Islaam: Tawheed Say: "I invoke only my Lord (Allah Alone), and I associate none as partners along with Him." [Qur'an 72:20] Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret..." [al-A'raaf 7:55]. Allaah commands His slaves to call on Him and not anyone else. Allaah says of the people of Hell (interpretation of the meaning): "[They say:] 'By Allaah, we were truly in a manifest error when we held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the Worlds." [al-Shu'ara' 26:96-97] Anything that results in equating something other than Allaah with Allaah in worship or acts of obedience is shirk, the crime of associating partners with Him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him until the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them? And when mankind are gathered (one the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become enemies for them and will deny their worshipping." [al-Ahqaaf 46:5-6] Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): " And whoever invokes (or worships) besides Allaah, any other god, of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely, al-kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah) will not be successful." [al-Mu'minoon 23:117 ...

Great show this was!!! Dylan Ryan (drums, vibraphone) Nick Broste (trombone) David McDonnell (alto saxophone) Nate Lepine (tenor saxophone) Patrick Newbery (trumpet) Greg Danek (contrabass) Hallwalls' Event Page Description ( www.hallwalls.org ): "What began as drummer Dylan Ryan's side project between Icy Demons and Michael Columbia has, over four recordings, evolved into something of a Chicago mainstay. The Beefheartian angularity of the early records has given way to post-fusion Wayne Shorter style soloing over heavier Afro rhythms. The stripped down rhythm section of bass and drums allows plenty of space for the four-horn frontline to paint fluidly over the grooves. Over the past three years, these gentlemen have been seen jamming with the likes of everyone from indie big dogs Wilco, TV On The Radio, Cursive and Broken Social Scene, to east coast free-form fire-breathers Daniel Carter and Paul Flaherty. Somehow, six of the busiest players in Chicago found the time to record their fourth record, Olives & Orchids." This concert was the headliner for ARTVOICE's "See You There!" listings of top entertainment attractions for the week of January 5 to 10. ARTVOICE Event Description ( blogs.artvoice.com ): "What do the words prosecco, Italian ice, and Venice beach grass have in common? Other than their Italian-made themes, these are the song titles of Chicago based prog-jazz band Herculaneum (also the name of an ancient Italian city lost to the same volcanic eruption that ...
