It is the second single from their eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown. The single was released through Reprise Records on May 25, 2009 as a digital download and July 14, 2009 as a CD single. "21 Guns" was released to modern rock radio stations on May 25, 2009, although it had already been played on some radio stations, such as KROQ in Los Angeles and 101.9 in New York City. In the radio edit, the song is over forty seconds shorter than the album version because the guitar solo is shortened and the beginning was cut out. The CD single and clear 7" single was released on July 14, 2009. The song is on the soundtrack of the film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which was released on June 23, 2009. (It is featured four times in the film itself.) It became available for download on the music video game series Rock Band on July 7, 2009, along with the songs "East Jesus Nowhere" and "Know Your Enemy." At the pre-release preview of 21st Century Breakdown, the MTV News reviewer called this song, "a cell-phones-in-the-air anthem." The song was recently performed live on the 34th season of Saturday Night Live. The music video was directed by Marc Webb; it was filmed in Los Angeles, California on June 6, 2009. Holandský zpěvák Bill van Dijk zpívá v zábavném pořadu ČST Praha „Televarieté", který byl jednou z „vlajkových lodí" normalizační televizní zábavy. Zná někdo název první písně? Druhá je „I've Got Music In Me" a mohli jsme ji slyšet v předchozím dílu v podání belgické zpěvačky Stelly (tahle píseň asi byla ve státech Beneluxu obzvláště oblíbená:-). V roce 1982 reprezentoval Nizozemsko v soutěži Eurovize, ale jeho píseň propadla. režie: Pavel Háša Dutch singer Bill van Dijk performing in the Czech TV show 'Televarieté'. Does anybody know the title of the first song? The second one is 'I've Got Music In Me' and we could hear it in the previous episode performed by the Belgian singer Stella (this song possibly was in the Benelux states especially popular:-). In 1982, he represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest but his song failed to make an impression.
