It is a good transmission but is susceptible to the valve body gasket "blowing out." The symptom of this in our vehicle was that the transmission missed second gear under acceleration but found a higher gear when we let off the gas pedal. This is an easy problem to diagnose and only requires basic tools. Pull your transmission pan down, remove your valve body and see if either the gasket between the plate and transmission is damaged (as on our Explorer) or the gasket between the plate and valve body is damaged. If they are then you have an inexpensive rewarding fix. If they aren't you can put your transmission together and know you may have a more expensive problem. This transmission was used in Ford Aerostar, Ranger, Explorer, Thunderbird, Mustang Mazda B-Series pickup, Mercury Mountaineer, Lincoln LS and Jaquar S-Type. This problem is more common to the mid to late 90s models. Torque specifications for the valve body to transmission bolts are 6-8 foot lbs or 70-90 Inch lbs. The bolts that hold the transmission pan on are 10 foot lbs.

No.18. Fotograf. Dopiero późnym wieczorem w TV, dowiedziałam się o czym mówili w radio. Ojciec Tess, producent Słonecznej Korony, pogroził paluszkiem. Niby mówił do wszystkich zawodników, ale ... . No cóż, zobaczymy jak to będzie się miało w zawodach. I to może nie w niższych klasach, a wyższych, A3, 2, 1. Ale teraz też może, konkurować razem z Tess. Dwóch oponentów bym miała na zderzaku. Całkiem „miła" perspektywa, nie powiem. W czasówkach bezpośrednio nie spotkamy się, ale w wyścigach, tak. Na Ibizie jeszcze możemy ostro powalczyć. Zawody wyższego szczebla A6, Puchar Ibizy. Ale to jeszcze przede mną. Czasówki były dość ciekawe. Najpierw wdrapywanie się pod górki, a potem zjazd. I to okraszone hopkami, z zakrętami. Podjazd pod górkę i ostry zakręt w dół. Przy większej szybkości loty murowane, a lądowanie przeważnie na poboczu. Tracimy cenne sekundy, przy wygrzebywaniu się na asfalt. Ostatnia czasówka w ruchu ulicznym, krótka. Trochę opanowania i zaliczona pozytywnie. Wyścigi zaczęły się wczesnym rankiem. I znowu górki. Co raz wtaczamy się na nie i szaleńcze zjazdy. A między nimi trochę prostych po w miarę równym terenie. Tess cały czas naciska mnie. Ja staram się jej uciec, pędzę na złamanie karku. Ale za chwilę zdaję sobie sprawę, że mogę w każdej chwili znaleźć się na pobliskim drzewie, przyhamowuję. Wtedy Tess dogania mnie. I tak bawimy się w kotka i myszkę. Pierwszy wyścig jest prosty. Zjeżdżamy z góry, jest trochę łagodnych zakrętów, kilka ostrych. Gdzieś pod koniec ...

No.17. TDU. Przez dzisiejszy dzień mogę sobie spokojnie potestować jeszcze Subaru. Wyruszyłam z rana, kiedy jest chłodnawo. Choć wkrótce i tak zacznie się skwarka. Środek wyspy, nad morzem byłoby bardziej znośnie. Upał mniej doskwiera, gdy się widzi przepiękne krajobrazy lub zajęci jesteśmy rozmową. No właśnie. Zabrałam na autostradzie północ-południe, kolesia, który o ciekawych zajęciach opowiadał. Komputery i gry, tym się zajmował. Właśnie męczył się z zespołem, nad jakąś grą samochodową. Mają ją jakoś poprawić, bo zawiera wiele błędów. Tylko, że brakuje im czasu na ich usunięcie. Absurd. Czyli nie wiele im się ją ją ulepszyć. Wydawca ich naciska. Kółeczko się zamyka. Aha. Wspominał też, że wyścigi w tej grze odbywają się na dwóch wyspach. To coś, jak Słoneczna korona. Ciekawe. Niestety, więcej się nie dowiedziałam, dojechaliśmy na miejsce. Pod taki budynek w Ibizie z dużym napisem na elewacji -- Eden G. Jak będę miała trochę czasu, poszukam tej gry, przecież komputer potrafię obsługiwać, to może pobawię się w wirtualne wyścigi. W ogóle to dzisiaj miałam jakoś szczęście do pasażerów. Przytrafił się jeden, co chciał posmakować dreszczyku emocji, podczas jazdy autem. Wyszedł z miękkimi kolanami. Hehe. Inny poprosił, żebym jechała za autem jego dziewczyny. Podejrzewał, że go zdradza. Po krótkiej jeździe, dowiedział się prawdy. Niestety miał rację. Chyba za mało się starał, że jej się znudził. Ale czemu się dziwić, przecież to Ibiza. Mnóstwo młodych ludzi, pragnących nowych ...
