www.ExtracashGenerators.com This show must be considered as what it was - one of the most popular shows in 20th century entertainment - on radio especially, as it even continued on TV with other actors. That white actors played black actors is reason for much of the dismissal of this show's impact on its listening audience. However, for 34 years Amos and Andy held a very singular place in the American old-time radio experience. The national audience was estimated at 40 million, and that very large audience was made up of Americans of many races and national backgrounds. All this was the creation of two men, Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. They were Amos and Andy from the beginnings of national network radio until that form had passed on, beaten on radio Top 40 bland and blatant Rock 'n' Roll. John Dunning, in his authoritative On the Air, The Encyclopedia of Old-Time Radio, gives a comprehensive overview of this singular pair who became.

(c)1964 Words & Music John Lennon - Paul McCartney Track 12 on album "Beatles For Sale" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don´t want to spoil the party so I´ll go I would hate my disappointment to show There´s nothing for me here, so I will disappear If she turns up while I´m gone, please let me know. I´ve had a drink or two and I don´t care There´s no fun in what I do if she´s not there I wonder what went wrong, I´ve waited far too long I think I´ll take a walk and look for her. Though tonight she´s made sad, I still love her. If I find her I´ll be glad, I still love her. One of the most popular vocalists between the end of World War II and the rise of rock & roll in the mid-'50s, Perry Como perfected the post-big band approach to pop music by lending his own irresistible laidback singing -- influenced by Bing Crosby and Russ Columbo -- to the popular hits of the day on radio, TV, and LP. Both his early traditional crooning style plus his later relaxed manner and focus on novelty material were heavily indebted to Bing Crosby, though Como's appeal during the early '50s was virtually unrivalled. Born in 1912 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Como was working as a singing barber in his hometown when he began touring with local bandleader Freddie Carlone at the age of 21. By the mid-'30s, he got his big break with Ted Weems & His Orchestra, who headed a popular radio show named Beat the Band. After the orchestra broke up in 1942, Como hosted a regional CBS radio show later called Supper Club. The show's success gained him a contract with RCA Victor Records by 1943, and he also began working in Hollywood with Something for the Boys. Perry Como's real big break came with the 1945 film A Song to Remember. His rendition of "Till the End of Time" spent ten weeks at the top of the charts and became the biggest hit of the year. Como's dreamy baritone worked especially well on ballads, such as the additional 1945-47 number one hits "Prisoner of Love," "Surrender" and "Chi-Baba, Chi-Baba (My Bambino Go to Sleep)." Hired by NBC for another radio show in 1948 ...

"Great Balls of Fire" is a 1957 song recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis on Sun Records and featured in the 1957 movie Jamboree. It was written by Otis Blackwell and Jack Hammer. The Jerry Lee Lewis 1957 recording was ranked as the 96th greatest song ever by Rolling Stone. The song is in AABA form. The song is best known for Jerry Lee Lewis's original recording, which was recorded in the Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, on October 8, 1957, and released as a 45rpm single on Sun 281 in November 1957. It reached #2 on the Billboard pop charts, #3 on the R&B charts, and #1 on the country charts. It also reached #1 on the UK pop charts, appeared on the New Zealand Singles Chart, and the Dutch Top 40. The song was featured in a performance by Jerry Lee Lewis and his band in the 1957 Warner Brothers rock and roll film Jamboree, which also featured Carl Perkins, Fats Domino, Buddy Knox, and Dick Clark. The recording was also released in the UK on London Records. The song title is derived from a Southern expression, which some Christians consider blasphemous, that refers to the Pentecost's defining moment when the Holy Spirit manifested itself as "cloven tongues as of fire" and the Apostles spoke in tongues. The Crickets released their version of the song in 1960 on their album, "In Style With The Crickets." Gary Lewis and the Playboys released a cover of this song in 1970 as the B-Side to the song "I'm On The Right Road Now." New Grass Revival recorded a high-speed bluegrass version of ...

BY SUZANA DALUL ANCHOR ANA COMPAIN-ROMERO The British Broadcasting Corporation is planning to develop a new video service. It will make old and new shows available for download. The ambitious download-to-own project, under codename 'Barcelona,' will also aim to compete with iTunes. Complex.com is optimistic about the new service: "Think HBO GO meets iTunes." "Though the move probably won't include every show over the course of the BBC's 85-year history... users could still see popular series the likes of "Dr. Who," "The Office", "Luther", etc." The Telegraph is reporting each show will likely cost 1.89 British pounds or around three dollars. BBC is also promising more money for show producers per download. Around 40 pence, compared to 28 pence on iTunes. However, a writer for The Telegraph explains that not everyone is ready to welcome the new service: "'Barcelona' is being met with skepticism by some independent producers who are worried that the arrangement will harm their DVD sales and are unsure of what percentage revenue share they will receive." At the moment, the only online platform for BBC's programs is iPlayer. Shows are only available for 30 days after broadcast. They are also limited to the UK, where each household pays a yearly license fee of 145 pounds or approximately 230 dollars. This is why a writer for Gizmodo UK doubts the appeal of the new service: "Would you pay money, on top of your licence fee, to be able to download and own BBC shows? No doubt they ...
