21 Jump Street is an upcoming 2012 action-comedy film based off the TV series of the same name. The film is written by Jonah Hill and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Two police officers (Hill and Tatum) go undercover in a high school in order to bust a drug ring. Channing Tatum as Jenko [3] Jonah Hill as Schmidt [4] Brie Larson as Molly [5] Ice Cube as Capt. Dickson [6] Ellie Kemper as Ms. Griggs [7] Dave Franco as Eric [8] Rob Riggle as Mr. Walters [9] Johnny Depp as Tom Hanson [10] In May 2008, Sony confirmed that a film version of the series is under development. Jonah Hill will rewrite an existing script by screenwriter Joe Gazzam and executive produce the film, as well as star in the film.[11] Johnny Depp has confirmed in an interview for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides that his cameo has already been filmed. Hill said he wanted horror director Rob Zombie to direct the picture. In May 2009, Jonah Hill described the film adaptation as being a "R-rated, insane, Bad Boys-meets-John Hughes-type movie"[12] On December 21, 2009 it was announced that Columbia Pictures are in talks with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs directing duo, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, to direct the film which will star Jonah Hill, who also is executive producing.[13] Channing Tatum will star alongside Hill in the film adaptation.[14]Dave Franco also won a role in the film,[15] and so has Dakota Johnson.[16]

The series premiered as a special preview on Nickelodeon on January 17, 2011 in the United States and started airing regularly on April 16, 2011. The series revolves around Mike Fukanaga, the main protagonist, and his friends, Owen and Amanda. After the death of his grandfather, Mike is given a mysterious letter which leads him to discover that he comes from a long line of ninjas. With Owen, and later Amanda, they are ushered into the world of crime-fighting, forming the team "Supah Ninjas." They are trained with a hologram of Mike's grandfather, whom Owen refers to as "Hologramps" in Empire City.
