Breaker Morant is a 1980 prize winning Australian film about the court martial of Breaker Morant, an Australian Army officer, on trial for the murder of prisoners during the Second Boer War. It was directed by Bruce Beresford and stars British actor Edward Woodward as Harry "Breaker" Morant. The all-Australian supporting cast features Bryan Brown, Lewis Fitz-Gerald, and Jack Thompson. Beresford co-wrote the screenplay with the 1978 play Breaker Morant: A Play in Two Acts (written by Kenneth G. Ross) as source for the screen story. It preceded other Australian New Wave war films such as Gallipoli (1981), The Lighthorsemen (1987) and the 5-part TV series ANZACS (1985). Recurring themes of these films include the Australian identity, such as mateship and larrikinism, (irreverence and mockery of authority), the loss of innocence in war, and also the continued coming of age of the Australian nation and its soldiers (later called the ANZAC spirit). The film was a top performer at the 1980 Australian Film Institute awards, with ten wins, including: best film, best direction, leading actor, supporting actor, screenplay, art direction, cinematography, and editing. It was also nominated for the 1980 Academy Award for the Best Writing (Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium). Plot: Breaker Morant concerns the murder trial of three Australian Army officers of the Bushveldt Carbineers serving in South Africa during the Second Boer War (1899--1902). Lieutenants Harry "Breaker ...

Yay! My first Janine and Donny fan video. It's really cool, I didn't think I would use this couple for a fan video. By the way, the song's by Atomic Kitten, it's one of their first singles from their first album, Right Now re-issue but it's the version with Kerry Katona's vocals. Basically, Janine Nebeski and Donny Kimber are a couple in Bad Girls but they're not allowed because Donny is a prison officer and Janine is a prisoner. But they still have a relationship anyway and she gets pregnant as well. Despite the song's lyrics, they get on well together in the TV show but I found some clips that can be interpreted by the lyrics, for example: "Cos you can see my running but you're standing still" - shows the bit in 8.09 when Janine is running away from Donny because he wants to handcuff her. "I need a new direction but you won't let me go" - He pretends to hand her a ticket leaflet but actually handcuffs her. They turn out alright, she has his baby in the very last episode. Wow Atomic Kitten is so cool! I don't know about making anymore Janine and Donny fan videos, I only made this one because the song was short. Plus, I only used 2 series for this - 7 and 8 - only because Janine is in both series but Donny's in only 8. I used series 7 to show the pictures of Janine that are taken.

Ulysses 31 (宇宙伝説ユリシーズ31 Uchū Densetsu Yurishīzu Sātīwan?, lit. Space Legend Ulysses 31) (French: Ulysse 31) is a Franco-Japanese animated television series (1981) that updates the Greek mythology of Odysseus (known as "Ulysses" in Latin, hence the name) to the 31st century. The show comprised 26 half-hour episodes and was produced by DIC Audiovisuel in conjunction with anime studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha. This is also the first show produced by DiC Entertainment, now Cookie Jar Entertainment. The plot line of the series, (made by the French Jean Chalopin), describes the struggles of Ulysses and his crew against the divine entities that rule the universe, the ancient gods from Greek mythology. The Gods of Olympus are angered when Ulysses, commander of the giant spaceship, Odyssey, kills the giant Cyclops to save a group of enslaved children, including his son. Zeus sentences Ulysses to travel the universe with his crew frozen until he finds the Kingdom of Hades, at which point his crew will be revived and he will be able to return to Earth. Along the way they encounter numerous other famous figures from Greek mythology given a futuristic twist. The entire series is available in English in a complete DVD box set in the UK released by Contender Entertainment, and in Australia by Madman Entertainment. In the US, one DVD entitled Ulysses 31: The Mysteries of Time was released, containing only four selected episodes. The first four episodes are available on Jaroo, an ...
