After the Costa Concordia struck ground in January 2012, ITV has been forced to scrap the promotional ads for the upcoming television drama 'Titanic' due to the Costa Concordia disaster. I don't want this petition to come off as disrespectful to the victims and families of the Costa Concordia, but this is absolutely ridiculous to suspend promotional advertising of a multi-million dollar production due to the negligence from the Captain of the Costa Concordia. Did Apple stop advertising their products after Steve Jobs died? Did television networks stop airing disaster movies after the Japanese earthquake? Of course they didn't! Why should ITV be forced to ban their promotional ads for a television drama that's been anticipated since it was first announced in 2010? It's quite ridiculous how the media compares the Costa Concordia to the Titanic.. I don't even understand why they would even dare to compare them both as it's not even REMOTELY close to the tragedy that occurred 100 years ago where 1517 lives were lost. I think it's a ridiculous and idiotic decision what ITV has done. What's next? Paramount and Fox Studios stopping all publicity for the 3D re-release of James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film?
