"Fade to Grey" is the second single by the British New Wave group Visage, released on Polydor Records in November 1980. The song was the band's most successful single. It became a huge dance floor hit and entered the singles charts in early 1981, peaking at #8 in the UK Singles Chart and reaching #1 in both Germany and Switzerland. The song's structure was primarily composed by Billy Currie and Chris Payne. While setting the track listing of the Visage album, Midge Ure composed the song's lyrics after Billy Currie suggested the use of the melody for the album. The band's singer Steve Strange had singing lessons with Ure in order to maintain himself in tune and be recorded. Gary Numan commented in interview for the Numan Digest: "As far as I'm concerned Chris and Billy were the driving force behind writing 'Fade to Grey'. They used to work on it during the sound checks on my '79 tour. Cedric [Sharpley, who was the drummer of the Gary Numan's backing band] was also heavily involved. In those days it was called 'Toot City'". On the UK Channel 4 show "Top Ten New Romantics" in 1999, Steve Strange claimed to have been the one who came up with the idea for the French vocal in the track (a statement disputed by Midge Ure who claims this idea was his). However the original recording by Currie and Payne had featured a French vocal well before Ure and Strange were involved, and this was written by Payne who now lives in France. The French vocal was performed by Brigitte Arendt ...

The new Maserati Trofeo MC World Series is ready to go. Now in its third year, Maserati's single-make series has made a number of big changes for 2012, the biggest of which have been to the race calendar. Now, the European boundaries have been broken with events programmed for the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, and the F1 circuit in Shanghai, China. The championship can now be called truly 'global'. Maserati will take care of running the series. The all-inclusive format suits gentleman drivers and those who want to race high-performance cars from a marque that has long been associated with motor racing. The 2012 season officially gets underway with this weekend's tests at Vallelunga to kick off a series won by David Baldi last year. The two test days will see around forty drivers from twelve countries trying out the new car. There will be drivers from Italy, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, England, Germany, Monaco, San Marino, Hungary and the United Arab Emirates taking part. As things stand, there are 20 crews enrolled, including three teams, AF Corse, Swiss Team and Konvex Racing, which battled it out for the title last year. There are also lots of drivers who have stayed loyal to the Maserati series, like Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, who last year scooped the Team title along with Alessandro Chionna, and Renaud Kuppens (who has competed in the FIA GT). Among the newcomers are Giorgio Sernagiotto/Giuseppe Fascicolo (ex-Ferrari Challenge), Riccardo ...

www.gfl.tv Northern Nevada's premier cage fighting event returned as Ultimate Reno Combat presented "Ultimate Reno Combat 32" in front of a lively crowd at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. 9 of 10 bouts ended in either KO or submission as URC proved once again, nobody puts on more exciting MMA shows then them. In the main event, Brandon Ricetti (5-2) defeated Jesse Romero (2-2) via TKO in round two, to become the new URC Lightweight Champion. It was a back and forth first round with the former champion mixing things up as Ricetti tried to settle in and implement his attack. In the second, after some Greco-Roman clinch work, Ricetti got a takedown on the winded Romero. From there, Ricetti took half mount and delivered a series of punches until the ref finally called a halt to the action. Ricetti's best weapon was his conditioning as the stoppage was more due to the continuation of punches rather than the strength of them. Ricetti took Romero's back and continued to punch. Romero was too tired to defend himself while Ricetti kept punching and punching until the end. In the co-main event, Terrell Bosen (3-0) defeated Will Hinrichs (1-1) by kimura submission hold in round one to become the new URC Heavyweight Champion. Bosen is a heavy puncher with both previous wins coming via first round KO but he showed he is equally as dangerous on the ground getting a tapout victory in under a minute. Bosen attacked from the opening bell landing a huge right that dropped Hinrichs ...
